Ken Vision LLC (“Ken,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Ken mobile application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our services.
1. Who We Are
Ken Vision LLC is a company registered in New Mexico, United States. We provide a language learning application that helps users track their learning practices, set goals, and reflect on their progress.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
- Anonymous Identifier: When you first use Ken, we create an anonymous user ID to identify your account. You can use Ken without providing any personal information.
- Email Address (Optional): If you choose to verify your account for backup and recovery purposes, we collect your email address.
- Device Identifier: A unique identifier for each device where you install Ken.
2.2 Learning Data
When you use Ken to track your language learning, we collect information such as:
- Learning goals and progress tracking data you create
- Practice sessions, including duration, ratings, and any notes you add
- Resources you track, including names, links, notes, and your progress
- Your learning schedule and preferences
2.3 Reflections
Ken helps you reflect on your learning through guided questions:
- Your Responses: Text or audio responses you provide to reflection questions.
- Audio Recordings: If you choose to respond by voice, we record and store your audio for transcription.
- AI Analysis: Our analysis of your reflections to provide personalized feedback.
2.4 Usage Data
We collect information about how you use Ken, such as:
- How you interact with the app, including screens viewed, taps, scrolling, and navigation patterns
- When you start and complete learning sessions
- When you open external learning resources from within the app
When you visit our website, we collect similar usage data such as pages viewed and referring sources.
2.5 Technical Information
We collect technical information necessary to provide the Service, such as your IP address, timezone, device platform, and app version.
2.6 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your precise location or GPS data.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files.
- We do not collect financial or payment information (payments are processed by Google Play or Apple App Store).

4.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We use self-hosted services to understand app and website usage. These services run on our own servers in the European Union and do not share data with third parties:

- GlitchTip: Error tracking
Feedback you submit is stored in our internal systems to address your concerns.
4.3 When We May Disclose Information
We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ken Vision, our users, or others.
4.4 No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. International Data Transfers
Ken Vision is based in the United States, and our servers are located in the European Union. When you use Ken, your data may be transferred to and processed in:
- European Union: Data storage, email services, backups, audio transcription, and self-hosted analytics
- United States: AI analysis services and subscription management
By using Ken, you consent to these international transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for all data transfers.
6. Data Retention
- Learning Data: We retain your learning data for as long as your account exists to provide continuity in your learning journey.
- Audio Recordings: Audio recordings are retained as part of your account data.
- Usage and Diagnostic Data: We retain usage analytics and error logs as long as necessary to operate, improve, and secure the Service.
When you delete data within the app (such as removing a practice session), we mark it as deleted but retain it in our systems for sync integrity. See Section 7 for how to request complete deletion.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
7.1 Access and Portability
You can view all your learning data within the Ken app at any time.
7.2 Correction
You can update or correct your information directly in the app.
7.3 Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. To request deletion:
- Your account must be linked to a verified email address (for identity verification).
- Send a deletion request from that email address to privacy@ken.vision.
- We will process your request within 15 business days.
Upon deletion, we will permanently remove your personal data from our systems, except where retention is required by law.
7.4 Withdraw Consent
You can stop using Ken at any time. If you have provided your email address, you can request its removal.
7.5 Residents of Colombia
Residents of Colombia may exercise these rights under Law 1581 of 2012 (Habeas Data) by contacting privacy@ken.vision.
8. Children’s Privacy
Ken is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@ken.vision and we will delete it.
Users between 13 and 18 should have parental or guardian consent before using Ken.
Ken may recommend external learning resources (such as books or courses) that have their own age ratings. We do not control these external resources.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure data storage in EU-based data centers
- Access controls limiting who can access user data
- Regular security reviews
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Language
This Privacy Policy is available in English and Spanish. In case of any conflict or inconsistency between versions, the English version shall prevail.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Posting the new policy on our website with an updated “Last updated” date
- Notifying you within the app if the changes are material
Your continued use of Ken after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
